begin by washing all of your greens, strawberries, cucumbers and red onions.
cut your red onions as thin as possible and add to a bowl of cold water (This reduces the sharpness of the onion)

assemble your washed and dried fruits and vegetables on a plate of choice and set aside.
in a small saucepan over medium heat add your balsamic vinegar and reduce until thickens (carefully swirl the pan until thickens) add your pepper to taste.
