Combine all of your dry ingredients in a medium-sized bowl (Rolled oats, brown sugar, flour, baking soda & salt). Melt your butter and add to the dry mixture, blend with a spatula until you form a dough. Press two cups of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan. In a food processor combine your dates with the hot water and form into paste( dip spatula in warm water to help spread the paste on the dough) Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the top.
